<h2>The Wrong way</h2>

Straight away to say the wrong way: a player gets a new champion they love and they rank it up to 6 star and level it up to level 60 with their campaign farmer or dungeon farmer. Then they gear it and either buy the Masteries with gems or start grinding the Masteries. And finally they have a fully ready champion.

There are many things wrong (in terms of it being inefficient) with the above way. This blog post will focus on the leveling up part:

Following server maintenance, a new scoring system has been implemented and officially goes live with the new season beginning May 5, 2026.

• Points gained per win now depend on the difference between you and your opponent 
• Beating lower-ranked opponents gives fewer points 
• Losing to higher-ranked opponents results in smaller penalties 
• A major threshold exists at 1320 points, where scaling becomes more aggressive

Before 1320 points, players gain fewer points when defeating weaker opponents but maintain relatively low penalties on losses. After 1320 points, losses become more punishing if you are favored, making rank progression more skill-based rather than grind-based.

While this system improves fairness, it still leans heavily on activity volume. Players who grind extensively can still climb, but efficiency and match selection now matter more than before.

Queen of Hearts is also getting a bug fix. Her passive, Hail To The Queen, is currently not granting an Extra Turn under certain circumstances. This is expected to be fixed in the nearest release. 

This matters because her passive is designed to punish enemy teams that receive large numbers of buffs. For every 10 buffs the enemy team receives, Queen of Hearts should gain an Extra Turn. When that passive fails to trigger correctly, it directly reduces her value in buff-heavy Arena matchups.
