Sometimes just having the right champion can be beneficial but great gear opens the door to making more champions viable when filling a specific role. Building champions effectively is the first step to creating synergy amongst champions which will in turn enable team compositions that are reliable.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Understanding Champion Types&nbsp;

The first step to building a RAID Champion is to understand the different types of champions available. There are four types of champions: Attack, Defense, HP, and Support. Each champion scales their damage based on the attribute specified in their skill. Champions can scale damage based on Attack, Defense, HP, Enemy Max HP, and Speed. Some champions may have skills that scale damage from a combination of these attributes. Some champions may have conditional effects that allow them to do more damage based on a condition specified in the skill. For these reasons, it is important to thoroughly read the champions skills before building them.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Choosing the right champion to build:&nbsp;

Each area of the game requires champions with specific skills in order to complete it effectively. In most cases it is important to have a balance of support, damage, and crowd control in your team composition. Understand the role you want each champion to play because that will directly influence the gear that you use for them. Affinity is also something to note when selecting champions. There are four affinities: Void, Magic, Force, and Spirit. While Void is neutral, there is a hierarchy with the other affinities:&nbsp;&nbsp;

Magic is stronger than Spirit&nbsp;

Spirit is stronger than Force&nbsp;

Force is stronger than Magic&nbsp;

Selecting champions that are weak affinity for certain areas will make them a liability in your team composition and influence the consistency of the results you are able to get. You don’t want to build a team of Magic affinity champions to complete a stage full of Force affinity opponents. Additionally, champions that are weak affinity have a 35% chance to land a weak hit. A weak hit does -30% damage. Debuffs cannot be placed on weak hits unless specified in the champions skill description. Champions that are strong affinity have an extra 15% chance to inflict a critical hit. The critical hit chance is reduced by 15% for champions that are weak affinity.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Leveling Champions:&nbsp;

Leveling and ascending a champion to 6 stars is the first step to getting the best build possible. You can level champions by earning experience points (XP). Champions will earn a certain amount of XP when completing battles. The campaign is one of the most efficient areas for leveling champions. The recommended stages for leveling champions in the campaign are Brimstone Path stage 12-3 on Brutal difficulty and Brimstone Path stage 12-6 on Nightmare difficulty.&nbsp; In order to equip a champion with an amulet they must be at least ascended at rank 5. To equip a champion with a banner they must be at least ascended at rank 6. You want to be able to equip these accessories in order to maximize the stats you can achieve on a given champion.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Gearing Champions&nbsp;

Equipping your champion with the right artifacts and accessories is critical to their success in battle. There are six&nbsp;types of artifacts and three types of accessories: weapons, helmets, shields, gauntlets, chests,&nbsp;boots, rings, amulets, and banners. Each piece of gear provides different bonuses to your champion's stats, such as increased attack, defense, hp, accuracy, resist, crit rate, crit damage, or speed. Each piece of gear will have a range of primary and substat values. Weapons will always have Attack as the primary stat. Helmets will always have HP as the primary stat. Shields will always have Defense as the primary stat. The maximum primary and substat value a piece of gear can achieve is based on both the rank and the rarity. When equipping your champion, it is important to consider their strengths and weaknesses and choose gear that complements their abilities.&nbsp;

Damage dealers typically have similar builds no matter how they scale their damage. You will want to focus on the stat&nbsp;that the champion scales its damage from. This will be specified in the champions skill description. Below are recommended stats to look for on pieces for an attack based damage dealer.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Defense or HP based nukers will have the same build as above. Just replace atk% with def% or hp% based on how the champion scales damage.

The primary stat on the glove will ideally be crit damage. If you are in the early game the primary stats on the glove will likely be crit rate. Ideally your damage dealer will have 100% crit rate and as much crit damage as possible. If you use a speed boot you can get the atk% substat on the boot as well. If you use atk% as a primary stat for the boot you cannot get it as a substat. Additionally you cannot get atk% as a substat on shields nor can you get def% as a substat on weapons. The speed of the champion will be determined by the area used and the team compositions. These things will determine whether you need to have the nuker faster or slower. Some damage dealers also have the ability to land debuffs which you may need. Accuracy would be a secondary stat to focus on after maximizing their damage output.&nbsp;

Building Support Champions&nbsp;

Support champions are usually in 2 types of builds. They will either be faster or slower depending on the requirements of the area they are being used in. In either case you will want them to be as tanky as possible so they can stay alive. Their primary purpose is to hold your comp together by healing or reviving the other champions when needed. Below are recommended stats to look for on pieces for a support champion.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Many things can be beaten over time with a decent support and damage dealer. CC champions make the jobs of your support and damage dealer easier and generally allow for faster runs. Upgrading Skills&nbsp;

Skill Tomes are very hard to come by in the game but using them on champions is almost essential in most cases. Some champions are viable without books but the majority of them need them in order to be reliable. Some champions will only be used for particular skills and won’t require you to fully book them. If you get lucky and book the skill you need it is&nbsp;okay to save the rest of your books for a champion that needs them more. You want to use tomes on champions with skills that get&nbsp;cooldowns and increased chances to land debuffs.&nbsp;Extra damage can also be obtained from booking a champion. Booking a damage dealer can greatly improve their damage output. Champions that don’t get these things from using skill tomes on them tend to not usually need them to be effective. More times than not a champion will need to be booked. &nbsp;

Masteries:

The Masteries you select for a champion will depend on the role that champion is filling in your team composition. There are Offense, Defense, and Support trees you can use in order to make your champions more viable. Only two of the three can be used at one time for any champion so be sure you select the right masteries. You do get one free reset if you want to start over but it costs 150 gems to reset any time after that. These are not guaranteed Champion events. They are 15x Progressive Chance events, which means the selected Champion has an increased chance to appear if you pull the correct rarity and shard pool first. With the current Champion pool being so large, the real odds of pulling one specific Champion are still very low unless you are already close to mercy or have a strong account-specific reason to summon.

<h2>May 19 Knights Revenant Progressive Chance Event</h2>

 The May 19 event focuses on Knights Revenant and includes a mix of Unity, support, burner, bomber, nuker, and utility picks. The Legendary pool includes Losan K’Leth, Narma the Returned, Giath the Truthshield, Walking Tomb Dreng, Gaius the Gleeful, Soulless, Pontifex Augustin, and Georgid the Breaker.

&nbsp;

The Epic pool includes Sinesha, Miscreated Monster, Thylessia, Skullcrown, and Whisper. As far as Epic consolation prizes go, this lineup is not bad. Whisper remains one of the strongest single-target Epic damage dealers in the game when properly supported, while Skullcrown is still a useful Arena and wave-clearing Champion for many accounts.

<h3>Best May 19 Pick: Losan K’Leth</h3>

 In a vacuum, Losan K’Leth is the most interesting Champion in this event because he is a Knights Revenant Faction Unity Legendary. Unity Champions are difficult to obtain, and when one appears in a targeted event, that naturally makes him stand out.

&nbsp;

Losan K’Leth is not necessarily the most universally powerful Champion in the lineup, but his kit is unusual. His ability to equalize ally HP and Turn Meter upward while lowering enemy Turn Meter levels gives him a type of control and tempo manipulation that is rare in <a href="https://www.raidshadowlegends.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Raid: Shadow Legends</a>. His long cooldowns hold him back, but the mechanics themselves are unique enough to make him the top target if you are specifically chasing rarity and account depth.

<h3>Pontifex Augustin Is the Underrated Pick</h3>

 Pontifex Augustin is one of the most underrated Champions in this pool. His passive is the main reason he deserves attention. Reducing damage taken from enemies under Block Debuffs is already valuable, but the real strength comes from his ability to punish enemies whenever they receive buffs, healing, or Turn Meter fill by potentially reducing the duration of their buffs.

&nbsp;

That kind of passive pressure can be extremely annoying in longer Arena fights, especially against teams that rely heavily on buff cycling. He also brings buff removal, Turn Meter control, and Ensnare interaction that can help against protected enemies. He is not always the flashiest pull, but he has a very strong control profile.

<h3>Georgid the Breaker Remains a Premium Nuker</h3>

 Georgid the Breaker is still one of the strongest attack-based Void nukers in the game. His value comes from reliable damage, strong single-target pressure, and his ability to deal with difficult defensive setups. If your account needs a high-end damage dealer for Arena, Georgid remains one of the best names in this event.

&nbsp;

That said, pulling specifically for Georgid in a 15x Progressive Chance event is still a gamble. He is excellent, but this event structure does not make him easy to obtain.

<h2>May 20 Undead Hordes Progressive Chance Event</h2>

 The May 20 event moves over to Undead Hordes. The Legendary pool includes Tribune Herakletes, Sanguine Maria, Bad-el-Kazar, Knave of Hearts, Ma’Shalled, Gaspard the Accused, Nekhret the Great, and Valkanen.

&nbsp;

The Epic pool includes Gorgorab, Catacomb Councilor, Balthus Drauglord, Khafru the Deathkeeper, and Ostrox Boneglaive. This Epic group has some useful utility, especially for accounts that can still benefit from revive support, ally attack options, or Void control tools.

<h3>Best PvP Pick: Sanguine Maria</h3>

 For PvP-focused players, Sanguine Maria is the standout non-Void Legendary in this lineup. She fits very well into the current Arena environment because of her multi-hit pressure, extra turn potential, buff stripping, and cooldown disruption.

&nbsp;

The value of multi-hit Champions has increased heavily in metas where players are dealing with layers of protection, including Total Guard and Mercurial-style setups. Sanguine Maria’s kit gives her the tools to pressure through those defensive layers while still offering control through cooldown increase and buff removal.

<h3>Best Overall Pick: Nekhret the Great</h3>

 Nekhret the Great is the safest overall pick from the May 20 lineup. He remains one of the best protection Champions in <a href="https://www.raidshadowlegends.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Raid: Shadow Legends</a>, bringing strong ally protection, survivability support, and team-enabling mechanics that help in Arena and beyond.

&nbsp;

His value is not limited to one type of team. Nekhret can protect fragile damage dealers, help teams survive opening pressure, and add consistency through his ally attack and defensive support. If you are looking at the event purely from an account-value perspective, Nekhret is the cleanest target.

<h3>Gaspard the Accused and Valkanen</h3>

 Gaspard the Accused is another strong Arena Champion and is worth respecting in this event. He brings a strong defensive and disruptive profile, making him a valuable option for accounts looking to improve their PvP roster.

Valkanen is one of the more entertaining Champions in the Undead Hordes roster. His ability to sacrifice an ally to unlock Malice Unleashed makes him a very unique Champion, but he is more of a fun and specialized pick than a must-have target for most accounts.

 Khafru the Deathkeeper is one of the best Epic pulls from the May 20 event. He brings Taunt, Unkillable, damage potential, and a small cleanse through his ability to remove a random debuff from allies. With Increased Defense active, he can also hit harder than players might expect from a control-focused Epic.

&nbsp;

He is also tied into Nekhret the Great from a lore perspective, which makes him a fitting consolation prize if you are pulling Void Shards during the Undead Hordes event.

<h2>Should You Pull Shards This Week?</h2>

 For most players, this is a cautious week. The Champion names are interesting, but the event format is still the issue. A 15x Progressive Chance event sounds better than it often feels in practice because you still need to pull the right rarity first, then beat a large Champion pool, and only then benefit from the boosted odds.

&nbsp;

If you are near mercy, pushing for Clan vs. Clan points, or specifically chasing a Unity Champion, then there is at least a case to be made. Losan K’Leth, Pontifex Augustin, Georgid the Breaker, Sanguine Maria, and Nekhret the Great are the main names worth discussing.

&nbsp;

If you are not near mercy and do not have a direct need for one of these Champions, saving shards is the safer play. Better summon structures can appear quickly, and burning shards on a narrow 15x target can leave your account short when a stronger event comes around.

For Undead Hordes, Sanguine Maria is the PvP highlight, but Nekhret the Great remains the best overall account-value pick.

This is not live yet, and Plarium only described it as something planned for one of the upcoming major updates, so players should treat this as an upcoming feature rather than an immediate change.

&nbsp;

Still, this is a positive step for account efficiency. Being able to farm something like Ice Golem, Dragon, Spider, Fire Knight, or another Background Battle activity while also progressing through Cursed City or Grim Forest would save a meaningful amount of time, especially during busy event windows. It is not the full “run anything while doing anything” system that many players would ideally want, but it is a clear improvement for two areas of the game that can otherwise take a lot of manual attention.

<h2>Fusion Token Clarifications</h2>

 Plarium also clarified how Fusion Tokens work. Fusion Tokens are earned by completing Fusion and Mixed Fusion events. Fragment Summon events, including the current Masahiro Fragment Summon event, do not award Fusion Tokens.

&nbsp;

The difference matters because Fusion and Mixed Fusion events appear in the Fusion tab of the Summoning Portal, while Fragment Summon events are handled through their own separate Fragment Summon tab. Fragment events still let players collect Champion Fragments toward a specific Champion, but they do not count as Fusion Token events.

&nbsp;

Plarium also confirmed that Champions from recent Fusion, Mixed Fusion, and Fragment Summon events will be added to the Fusion Champion Swap pool at the beginning of 2027. That means players who missed certain 2026 event Champions may eventually see them added to the swap pool, although the exact Champion cost will still depend on how Plarium tiers them in the system.

<h2>How Fusion Champion Swapping Works</h2>

 Fusion Champion Swapping lets players replace the target Champion in an active time-limited Fusion Event with a previous Fusion or Fragment Event Champion they missed. However, only eligible Champions can be chosen, and the available swap options depend on the player’s roster.

&nbsp;

There is one important catch: if a player already collected 100 Fragments for a Champion, that Champion is treated as obtained even if they have not actually summoned them yet. In that case, they cannot be selected as a Fusion Swap target.

&nbsp;

Fusion Token costs are divided into tiers. Tier 1 Champions cost 3 Fusion Tokens, Tier 2 Champions cost 2 Fusion Tokens, and Tier 3 Champions cost 1 Fusion Token. Once a player swaps the target Champion, the Tokens are deducted, and that specific Fusion Event will no longer award a Fusion Token. If the player fails to complete the swapped Fusion Event, the Tokens are returned when the event expires.

<h2>Sparring Pit Auto-Leveling Points</h2>

 Another useful clarification concerns the Sparring Pit. Champions in the Sparring Pit show real-time progress, but the actual level increase only applies when the Champion is removed from the slot. This is intended behavior.

Because of that, progress and points for quests, events, and tournaments only count when the Champion is taken out of the Sparring Pit. This includes Deck of Fate and Path Events. In practical terms, if players are trying to collect points from Sparring Pit leveling, they need to remove the Champion from the slot after the levels are gained. Simply leaving them inside while the progress bar moves will not immediately count those levels for event scoring.

&nbsp;

<h2>Auto-Equip Will Not Strip Gear From Other Champions</h2>

 Plarium also clarified the Auto-Equip feature. Using Auto-Equip will not remove gear from other Champions in the player’s collection. It only selects from available gear in inventory, meaning existing Champion builds remain unchanged.

That makes Auto-Equip safer than some players may have assumed, but it also means it will not automatically pull the best possible gear from already-built Champions. If a key nuker, support, or boss specialist is already wearing a strong piece, Auto-Equip will leave that item alone.

 The Digest also addressed a frustrating Siege issue. Some players have reported Siege battles getting stuck on the loading screen, with Attack Scrolls being consumed even though the battle is not recorded in the log and no rematch is allowed.

<h2>Why Tekteon Fissureflesh Is Such a Strong Target</h2>

 Tekteon Fissureflesh is a Void Legendary from the Argonites, and his kit is built around survivability, control, and cooldown disruption. He brings Poison Cloud, Taunt, protected Shields, AoE hits, Stun chances, and enemy cooldown increase all in one Champion.

&nbsp;

His passive places a Poison Cloud buff on himself at the start of each round, reduces the damage he takes from critical hits, and increases his MAX HP whenever enemies hit him. Weak hits increase his MAX HP even faster, which works especially well with Poison Cloud forcing weak hits unless enemies can remove it or counter it with HP Burn.

&nbsp;

His A3 places Taunt and Poison Cloud on himself for 3 turns, places a protected Shield on all allies, and then grants him an Extra Turn. That lets him immediately follow up with his A2, which attacks all enemies twice, places Shatter on himself before attacking, ignores Shield, Strengthen, and Increase DEF buffs, and increases enemy skill cooldowns by 2 turns on each hit.

&nbsp;

That is why Tekteon is such a dangerous PvP Champion. He is not just a tank. He can protect the team, bait attacks with Taunt, survive through Poison Cloud and critical damage reduction, and then punish the enemy team with a heavy AoE cooldown lockout. His A1 also attacks all enemies twice with a chance to place Stun, giving him even more control after the opening turn.

 Tekteon’s biggest value is clearly in PvP, especially Live Arena, Classic Arena, and high-end defensive or control-focused teams.
