The first step to building a RAID Champion is to understand the different types of champions available. There are four types of champions: Attack, Defense, HP, and Support. Each champion scales their damage based on the attribute specified in their skill. Champions can scale damage based on Attack, Defense, HP, Enemy Max HP, and Speed. Some champions may have skills that scale damage from a combination of these attributes. Some champions may have conditional effects that allow them to do more damage based on a condition specified in the skill. For these reasons, it is important to thoroughly read the champions skills before building them.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Choosing the right champion to build:&nbsp;

Each area of the game requires champions with specific skills in order to complete it effectively. In most cases it is important to have a balance of support, damage, and crowd control in your team composition. Understand the role you want each champion to play because that will directly influence the gear that you use for them. Affinity is also something to note when selecting champions. There are four affinities: Void, Magic, Force, and Spirit. While Void is neutral, there is a hierarchy with the other affinities:&nbsp;&nbsp;

Magic is stronger than Spirit&nbsp;

Spirit is stronger than Force&nbsp;

Force is stronger than Magic&nbsp;

Selecting champions that are weak affinity for certain areas will make them a liability in your team composition and influence the consistency of the results you are able to get. You don’t want to build a team of Magic affinity champions to complete a stage full of Force affinity opponents. Additionally, champions that are weak affinity have a 35% chance to land a weak hit. A weak hit does -30% damage. Debuffs cannot be placed on weak hits unless specified in the champions skill description. Champions that are strong affinity have an extra 15% chance to inflict a critical hit. The critical hit chance is reduced by 15% for champions that are weak affinity.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Leveling Champions:&nbsp;

Leveling and ascending a champion to 6 stars is the first step to getting the best build possible. You can level champions by earning experience points (XP). Champions will earn a certain amount of XP when completing battles. The campaign is one of the most efficient areas for leveling champions. The recommended stages for leveling champions in the campaign are Brimstone Path stage 12-3 on Brutal difficulty and Brimstone Path stage 12-6 on Nightmare difficulty.&nbsp; In order to equip a champion with an amulet they must be at least ascended at rank 5. To equip a champion with a banner they must be at least ascended at rank 6. You want to be able to equip these accessories in order to maximize the stats you can achieve on a given champion.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Gearing Champions&nbsp;

Equipping your champion with the right artifacts and accessories is critical to their success in battle. There are six&nbsp;types of artifacts and three types of accessories: weapons, helmets, shields, gauntlets, chests,&nbsp;boots, rings, amulets, and banners. Each piece of gear provides different bonuses to your champion's stats, such as increased attack, defense, hp, accuracy, resist, crit rate, crit damage, or speed. Each piece of gear will have a range of primary and substat values. Weapons will always have Attack as the primary stat. Helmets will always have HP as the primary stat. Shields will always have Defense as the primary stat. The maximum primary and substat value a piece of gear can achieve is based on both the rank and the rarity. When equipping your champion, it is important to consider their strengths and weaknesses and choose gear that complements their abilities.&nbsp;

Defense or HP based nukers will have the same build as above. Just replace atk% with def% or hp% based on how the champion scales damage.

The primary stat on the glove will ideally be crit damage. If you are in the early game the primary stats on the glove will likely be crit rate. Ideally your damage dealer will have 100% crit rate and as much crit damage as possible. If you use a speed boot you can get the atk% substat on the boot as well. If you use atk% as a primary stat for the boot you cannot get it as a substat. Additionally you cannot get atk% as a substat on shields nor can you get def% as a substat on weapons. The speed of the champion will be determined by the area used and the team compositions. These things will determine whether you need to have the nuker faster or slower. Some damage dealers also have the ability to land debuffs which you may need. Accuracy would be a secondary stat to focus on after maximizing their damage output.&nbsp;

Building Support Champions&nbsp;

Support champions are usually in 2 types of builds. They will either be faster or slower depending on the requirements of the area they are being used in. In either case you will want them to be as tanky as possible so they can stay alive. Their primary purpose is to hold your comp together by healing or reviving the other champions when needed. Upgrading Skills&nbsp;

Skill Tomes are very hard to come by in the game but using them on champions is almost essential in most cases. Some champions are viable without books but the majority of them need them in order to be reliable. Some champions will only be used for particular skills and won’t require you to fully book them. If you get lucky and book the skill you need it is&nbsp;okay to save the rest of your books for a champion that needs them more. You want to use tomes on champions with skills that get&nbsp;cooldowns and increased chances to land debuffs.&nbsp;Extra damage can also be obtained from booking a champion. Booking a damage dealer can greatly improve their damage output. Champions that don’t get these things from using skill tomes on them tend to not usually need them to be effective. More times than not a champion will need to be booked. &nbsp;

Masteries:

The Masteries you select for a champion will depend on the role that champion is filling in your team composition. There are Offense, Defense, and Support trees you can use in order to make your champions more viable. Only two of the three can be used at one time for any champion so be sure you select the right masteries. You do get one free reset if you want to start over but it costs 150 gems to reset any time after that. Starting on Monday, April 13, players are getting a 96-hour Awakening Boost Event running alongside an Adventure Deck of Fate built around high-rank Glyph rewards. On paper, that sounds strong. In practice, it raises the same question that comes up every time Plarium lines up overlapping progression systems: is this a solid opportunity, or is it just another cleverly packaged bait event?

The answer is not the same for every account. This is not one of those situations where everybody should go all-in or everybody should skip. The value depends almost entirely on what resources you have saved, where your account is in progression, and whether you place more importance on future guaranteed rewards than immediate account upgrades.

She brings a 33% Speed Aura in Arena, a disruptive A1 that can place Sleep and trigger automatically when enemies gain Turn Meter, a buff-strip-and-buff-spread AoE, and an AoE that increases enemy skill cooldowns to the maximum while also dropping Turn Meter and granting an extra turn. That already puts her in the conversation for top-tier Arena openers.

Then the passive pushes things even further. Sabrael takes no damage when attacked outside an enemy’s active turn, which makes her especially nasty into counterattacks, ally attacks, and similar reactive pressure. She has excellent base speed for a support, a strong Arena speed aura, HP equalization to stabilize the team, and one of the more appealing revive skills added recently. That revive brings Perfect Veil and Unkillable, and it stays useful even when no ally is revived because the buffs still go out. That matters.

Her passive is another reason she stands out. Every time the enemy team piles up enough buffs, Mavara can increase ally Turn Meter. Every time her own side piles up enough buffs, she heals the team. So she is not just a reviver. She is feeding momentum and sustain throughout the fight.

Bayard the Broad

Bayard looks like a disruptive progression and wave-content champion more than a pure endgame speed clear piece. He is not the cleanest kit in the release, but he might end up being one of the more annoying ones to fight and one of the more fun ones to build around.

Phemo the Shepherd looks like a proper defensive control champion. He has the kind of kit that can feel irritating in both wave content and PvP if his numbers are strong enough, because he does not just protect the team. He punishes enemies for trying to play normally.

His A2 places Increase DEF and a shield on all allies, and those buffs become protected if there are dead allies. The real value comes from the passive interaction: when an ally is killed, Phemo can instantly fire that protection skill without putting it on cooldown. His A1 destroys enemy max HP and boosts his own Turn Meter, with both effects getting stronger against Provoked targets. That is a simple but effective loop. His other single-target attack ignores Defense and Stone Skin under the right HP conditions, and can either chain into his Provoke skill on kill or heal allies if the target survives. That gives him a mix of pressure and utility rather than locking him into one role.

If we are ranking pure account value, Glorious Pallas is right at the top. On top of that, she is one of the first champions to introduce Fervor, which gives allies extra damage while helping them take less in return.

&nbsp;

That alone would already make her a premium summon target, but the bigger point is reliability. Damage dealers come and go depending on the meta. High-end support champions with revive, protection, cleansing, and long-term PvE value do not. If your account is missing that kind of stabilizer, Pallas is the safest and strongest pull on the board this week.

<h2>Best Arena Pickup: Lord Entertainer Fabian</h2> 

If your focus is Arena, then Lord Entertainer Fabian has a real case for the number one spot. He is one of the most oppressive control champions in the game thanks to his True Fear pressure, cooldown disruption, buff control, and the way his passive punishes enemies for trying to play through him. In PvP, that sort of control can decide fights before they really start.

Prince Kymar is still one of the most valuable utility Legendaries in Raid thanks to his cooldown reset and speed-run potential. Some rosters need him desperately. Others already have their reset options or simply are not at the stage where his value is fully unlocked.

Osgrun the Defiler is another strong option. He brings ally attack utility, cooldown pressure on enemies, buff removal, turn meter support, and good Arena relevance. He is a very real target if you want a champion who can slot into both PvP and PvE teams, but he is not quite as universally account-changing as the very top names.

Kebaron the Underflame also deserves respect. He is one of the more exciting offensive options from the newer pool, with strong damage, HP Burn synergy, and good interaction around Deathbrand-style pressure. He looks excellent, and early opinions on him are high. Still, if you are choosing strictly between him and Glorious Pallas for account value, the support champion wins.

Platinum Raid Card The new Platinum Raid Card gives players 20% extra XP in Campaign, 30% extra Silver from Campaign battles, 100 extra Multi-Battles, doubled XP per hour in the Sparring Pit, and automatic leveling in the Sparring Pit. That last feature is easily one of the most noticeable additions in the entire patch, because it removes some of the repetitive babysitting from champion leveling. The catch is obvious though: once a champion reaches max level, you still have to swap them out manually.

Diamond Raid Card The Diamond Raid Card includes everything from Platinum, but adds 140 extra Multi-Battles, 1 Legendary Skill Tome per month, and 1 monthly chest with random rewards. Those chest rewards can range from Rank 5 Chickens and Chaos Ore to Legendary Tomes, a Mythical Skill Tome, Void Shards, or Primal Shards. On paper, that sounds decent. In practice, the random chest is still a gamble, and that is likely why this part of the patch immediately got mixed reactions from the community.

For early-game and some mid-game accounts, these cards can still offer real value, especially if Campaign farming is part of the daily routine. For late-game accounts, the value becomes much more situational. If you are already relying mostly on brews, not pushing Campaign often, and not desperate for more Multi-Battles, then the new subscription tiers look more like optional convenience than must-have progression tools.

<h2>Best Quality-of-Life Changes in the Patch</h2> 

Improved Minotaur Scroll Distribution One of the most useful updates in 11.40 is the change to Mastery Scroll distribution. Before this patch, any extra scrolls earned by a champion who had already maxed that scroll tier were simply wasted. Now, those surplus scrolls can transfer to another champion from the same run, as long as that champion participated in the battle and still needs that specific type of scroll. The biggest balance story in this patch is clearly Cruetraxa. Her Skill 1 now also ignores [Block Damage], her Skill 2 cooldown has been reduced from 4 turns to 3, and that same skill now strips all buffs before attacking, places [Weaken], ignores 25% DEF, and applies [Block Revive] if it gets the kill. On top of that, her passive now grants a protected [Revive On Death] and gives her a full Turn Meter refill plus [Increase ATK] when she revives through it.

That is a serious upgrade, especially for Arena. The combination of stronger buff control, more reliable kill pressure, and better self-revival makes her look far more dangerous than before. She was already a champion with upside, but these changes push her much closer to true meta relevance. If you already had Cruetraxa sitting in the vault or half-built, this patch is a good reason to take another look.

The other rebalance target, The Incarnate, also improved. The update strengthens the champion’s provoke chance, expands the counterattack conditions, upgrades buff removal, improves shielding, and adds stronger Arbiter synergy. That should make the champion more usable, but the impact still looks far smaller than what Cruetraxa gained from this rebalance cycle.

<h2>Most Important Bug Fixes in the Patch</h2> 

The 11.40 patch also came with a long list of fixes, and a few of them matter more than the rest.

Pelops the Victor One of Pelops’ selling points is his interaction with [Petrification], so it was a real problem that he could still be hit by reflected Petrification despite supposed immunity. That has now been fixed, which is important because it restores one of the champion’s defining mechanics instead of leaving him undermined by a bug.

Sanguine Maria Her passive was failing to place [True Fear] on all opponents after she revived. That is not a cosmetic bug. That is a core kit problem, and fixing it should make her much more consistent in the situations where players bring her for that disruptive revive pressure.

That last one stands out because the official notes did not explain how far the bug went, which naturally leaves players wondering how much it may have affected relic progression.
