There is a considerable amount of strategy that goes into placing Platinum Arena. The top clans and players&nbsp;are testing new builds each week with an array of champions all with the goal of having someone in their clan get first place. Some more casual End-Game players may only seek to get placement.&nbsp;In this article we will discuss strategies used by the top players as well as current issues with End-Game PVP content.

As a cluster they have a considerable amount of Platinum Arena first place finishes and are very knowledgeable overall. Below are their&nbsp;suggestions for&nbsp;the best ways any player should&nbsp;approach Platinum Arena.&nbsp;

BUILD DEFENSE

Every player should first build a defense and then gauge the strength of that defense. It is easier to gauge the strength of the defense if you are in plat because of the limited amount of spots. Your clanmates will easily be able to find you and attack the defense as many times as possible to see how it performs against certain offenses. Additionally, other top players&nbsp;may attack it giving you some indication as to the offenses they are testing. According to members from Sacred Panda, they have individual players fighting 800+ fights weekly to determine the defenses they will use during reset.&nbsp;

DETERMINE PLAY STYLE &amp; BUILD OFFENSE

Individual players will have different play styles depending on the strength of their defense. This is also contingent on the&nbsp;consistency of their offense. Your play style may be limited based on your ability to beat teams fast and the types of teams your account can successfully win against. Most of the top players will be able to attack any type of defense and have multiple offensive options that they have tested. Testing your offense and defense are vital to successfully placing in Platinum Arena.&nbsp;

Aggressive play style is for players with really strong offenses who can get fights in quickly with the goal of gaining a lot of ranking points. It is also used to reduce the points of other players so that someone in their individual clan can climb higher in the ranking. An aggressive player might attack some accounts up to ten times. This is a risky play style because you can also lose battles due to the&nbsp;amount of RNG a given defense brings.&nbsp;

Team play style is essential for the top clans. They coordinate different strategies week to week to ensure that someone from their clan is in first place during arena reset. Players generally do not attack members from their own clan as it is counterproductive to the overall goal of having someone from their clan place first.&nbsp;

Pacing play style is for someone who has an account that might not be able to survive well in the top 100. Once in the top 100 your account will be on the pages of players that will be able to defeat you without much effort. You could get attacked&nbsp;10 times really quickly and all of the losses will come in at the same time pushing you out of Platinum Arena.&nbsp;If your account is not the strongest it is important to pace your push so that you aren't on the radar of the top players unless you have an offense that can make up the amount of points lost. Making up points is very difficult though for inexperienced players. Depending on how much time is left before reset, it may be impossible for some players to make up 60+ points to allow them to place.&nbsp;

Safe and consistent play style is for players with really strong defenses. Players with this play style will also have an offense that has around a 100% win rate. They are able to effectively contribute to the teams play style because they can easily drop the rank of opponents. It is important to have clan members&nbsp;who are able to use any of the given play styles week to week.&nbsp;

The game's content overall is well-designed, but the PvP aspect has faced several challenges and issues. Despite updates and changes, End Game PvP in Raid: Shadow Legends remains a polarizing topic among players. This is due to the ever growing mechanics of the game, and the ever shifting meta. Additionally, the updates and changes have not catered to those not competing in End-Game content. Some feel that the every update makes certain players stronger due to their ability to buy everything that they need to be more successful. There is a desire amongst end game players to make PVP more exciting and more accessible. They hope that by sharing the strategies they use they can encourage more players to try and fight in&nbsp;Platinum Arena.&nbsp;

Strategy aside, one of the most significant issues with PvP in Raid: Shadow Legends is the imbalance between players who have invested in the game and those who haven't. As stated by one player, "People are just outmatched as far as the wallet is concerned." Players who have spent a significant amount of money on the game have access to more powerful champions, artifacts, and blessings.&nbsp;

The introduction of the<a href="https://aftershockunited.gg/raid/champions/marichka-the-unbreakable"> Marichka</a> and <a href="https://aftershockunited.gg/raid/champions/taras-the-fierce">Taras</a> duo&nbsp;further aggravated this problem. The duo&nbsp;created a significant shift in the meta, and players who pulled the duo were suddenly propelled to the top 100, whereas they couldn't even finish in Platinum Arena during reset before. These two champions alone are&nbsp;so strong that players who don't have it are&nbsp;seen as easy pickings.

<a href="https://aftershockunited.gg/raid/blessing">Blessings</a> and Awakenings are another issue. Blessings have become so broken that they've nerfed one-third of the champions and the only consistent way to beat Marichka and Taras. The only way to deal with them is by debuffing them.&nbsp;High-end accounts that have the Polymorph blessing&nbsp;can't be debuffed due to the immense amount of RNG. It has created a situation where every endgame player has five or six-star blessings on their champions, and running a debuff strategy is impossible. The only option left is to play aggressively, which results in losses and boosting.

In addition to the above, PvP in Raid: Shadow Legends suffers from imbalances created by empowerment and awakening.&nbsp;Some players have access to ridiculous gear that has been ascended, while others don't.&nbsp;Awakening a champion allows them to have stat bonuses that make them almost impossible to defeat with certain accounts. The upcoming accessory ascension dungeon will likely&nbsp;create additional imbalances.

Reset time is one of the largest factors that determine whether a player will push Platinum Arena during reset. After&nbsp;Spring daylight saving time, Platinum Arena reset is 4am EST. In the Fall it&nbsp;goes back to 3am EST. This makes it difficult for players to compete as they don't want to wake up during that time. Many people have other things they need to do on Monday mornings and pushing Platinum Arena reset just doesn't seem worth the lost sleep.&nbsp;

Many players have not tried to push Platinum Arena during the week and are likely unaware of what their account can accomplish. The team compositions, blessings, and awakenings can be very discouraging.&nbsp;On the other end of the spectrum are players who refuse to push because they don't think it is worth it if they won't get first place. He was neither conceived, carried, nor born. ‘Accident’ is the best explanation Grand Arcanist Kelezar, a Knight Revenant of the Cult of K’Leth, can give. He calls himself Embrys’ ‘master’, but he and everyone around him knows that to be self-flattering at best. It all began with the quest of some Knights Revenant to find a cure for the dread illness known as Stormwind rot, an agonizing wasting disease which originates in the Stormwind Wastes, where the Cultists of K’Leth operate in large numbers. The illness is so potent it infects the soul, following infected Knights Revenant from body to body, even damaging the soul gems they depend on to preserve their spirits in Teleria. Many Knights established underground arcane laboratories in the Stormwind Wastes to find a solution, using relics, dark magic, slaves, and animals in countless depraved experiments, racing to be the first. Nothing worked. But there were results that defied explanation. Test subjects went catatonic or bloodily exploded before a spell was cast or they were exposed to an artifact. Books of dark magic refused to be opened. Animals physically merged into horrific constructs without warning. Relics known to have deadly potency fell inert or suddenly turned on their owners in murderous rampages. There was a power here beyond the combined knowledge of the best Knights Revenant arcano-scholars and esoteri-mages. Kelezar hypothesized it was connected with the Stormwind rot, and desired to study and weaponize it. He believed mastering this force could grant him far more power than just being able to cure Stormwind rot, and dared dream he could do both. In the face of opposition from his colleagues Kelezar turned on them all, killing or driving them away before seizing their sites, acolytes, and resources. The Grand Arcanist had his followers dig tunnels between as many of the laboratories as possible and increased the number and complexity of experiments. Given the perplexing nature of this force they had discovered, most tests were little more than observations of whatever happened to the subjects. As often as not, cultists setting up the experiments were engulfed in them as well, mutated, rendered hysterically happy, ripping each other limb from limb, or becoming inert. Many terrible beasts were formed, the largest of which Kelezar called the Chimera, a monstrous hybrid of slave Skinwalkers, lions, rams, and venomous snakes, which possessed terrifying intelligence. Kelezar had no idea the power was Uncreation itself, brought there when the Demon Lord tore into Teleria through the Brimstone Gate centuries after the Sin of Dragons. It could not be controlled. It behaved, not according to any will, but because it just behaved. One of its manifestations was the spontaneous growth of hundreds of amniotic sacs, some the size of a hen’s egg, others titanic. Each carried a creature which clawed and cut its way into the world. Some died quickly, dissolving to fleshy paste once exposed to the air, or eaten by another beast. Hundreds survived, to Kelezar’s delight. The first of these was Embrys. ‘He’ is also the most physically and magically stable. He is a musclebound, towering brute with pallid, lilac skin, blood red eyes, and pulsating crimson veins. Thick, fleshy, protruding spikes and writhing tentacles burst from his back and along one arm. Over his head – or perhaps it is his head – lies a hood of the same royal purple, vein-threaded substance. For some time Kelezar and his acolytes observed Embrys. The being crafted himself armor and took an enormous, heavy-bladed ax from the detritus that lay within the warren of tunnels. Kelezar marveled as he killed cultists hunting other creatures born from the region’s bizarre magic, or interlopers who had found their way inside. He possessed remarkable affection for the Chimera, their bond to this day inexplicable. Kelezar’s ego could not have been more stoked when, of its own volition and without explanation, Embrys came to him, offering his weapon, from then on becoming the Grand Arcanist’s chief, silent enforcer. In Kelezar’s council meetings, Embrys stands at his right shoulder, tentacles wriggling, eyes glaring, veins throbbing. To be merely in his presence – except for Kelezar, for reasons unknown to all – is deeply disturbing, in a different way each time. Sickness, existential angst, migraines, and a deep sense of foreboding are common. Further unease is inspired by Embrys’ physical form. His tentacles move according to their own whims, sometimes caressing their host or fighting with each other, or drifting in the air like seaweed in an ocean current. The final component of Embrys’ intimidating quality is his ax. Were the enormous weapon in his gigantic fists not enough, the blade itself sports a growth of tentacles, with slime-drenched bulbous growths embedded within them. These are sentient and ever-hungry, given names and doted on by Embrys like a besotted father. He feeds them gibbets of meat whenever he pleases, but sometimes this is insufficient and they screech in ravenousness. In these hungry moments they eagerly lash out to tear into the necks of passers-by. Embrys does not realize that at times it is they who control him, not the other way around. On occasion, Embrys takes a different form, one of a mortal man in the garb of a K’Lethi Cultist, bedecked in symbols of death, though some of his veins still paint red rivulets across his skin. It was years before Kelezar knew he could do this, and the Grand Arcanist and his council wonder how often he transformed before they noticed. What might he have seen or heard, wandering about the laboratories in disguise? Is this, or his monstrous form, his true form? Might the impossible power of the Wastes allow him to present as he wishes, in front of anyone, or even appear differently to each individual in a group to better have the impact he wishes to have? Such is the mystery of Uncreation made manifest. Final Verdict – Is Embrys Worth Building? Without question -&nbsp;YES. Embrys is one of the most versatile champions RAID has ever released. Whether you build him as a disruptive support, a nuke-happy menace, or a PvE solo powerhouse, he delivers consistent results across all content. With guaranteed Stone Skin removal, reflect damage on death, unremovable Necrosis stacks, and extra-turn chains, Embrys is a tactical monster who rewards smart play and adapts to any situation. Fabian admired the High Elves’ Festival of Creation celebrations most. His father periodically held them himself, until Fabian requested at his coming-of-age that he organize them. Patrice gladly granted permission, as the work was onerous indeed. Fabian relished it. Not only did he host an event annually, but within a decade they were regarded as the best in Aravia. The events Fabian held were seen as the embodiment of tasteful sophistication, a perfect balance of opulence and restraint. He carefully managed every last detail, whether that be the kind of lace used for his musicians’ costumes, the wine accompaniment to the eighth course, the precise shade of blue for napkins, or how many buttons his servers’ waistcoats should have. Fabian preferred just one thing to organizing his events: seeing his guests enjoy them. He hoped the High Elves would come to fully accept him, not just see him as an ‘exceptional’ Human. But they did not. The Aravians liked, even loved, Fabian, affectionately calling him the ‘Lord of Levity’, but he was never one of them. Fabian’s death was sudden and premature. His body was found with a terrible head injury, and the murder was never solved. Were he able to cry, he would have wept for hours. What had become of him to end up like this even he did not know. He knew however he could not join his guests in his condition. Fabian resolved to continue his work regardless. The very next year, he held a magnificently successful party. As far as the guests were concerned, an anonymous donor had volunteered to organize the event in Fabian’s honor, their name kept secret so as not to distract from that purpose. And so it has continued ever since, for years, the people believing that each event was funded by a private individual in Fabian’s memory. The ‘Lord Entertainer’, as he became known, lives in his mansion, his Undead soul bound to it and his ancestral staff due to his love for home and family in life. He cannot leave. Not only did they discover him and not destroy him, they layered magical wards across his estate. Furthermore, they made the legal arrangements to protect his ownership of his mansion. Most importantly of all to Fabian, his friends keep him company. He finally knows how appreciated he is, and takes much joy seeing others enjoy his events, but it hurts him that his Undeath means he cannot partake in them. His friends’ smiles, their words of encouragement, all give him strength to continue. With King Tayba’s War raging, he has needed this more than ever, for he intends his next celebration to be his greatest yet, to bring cheer to his bloodied people and to prove his dedication to the High Elves.
