To test everything and ensure it's working correctly ahead of the grand opening, a Live Arena test launch will be run with a limited group of players. The full launch schedule is subject to change, and the developers will communicate if and when it does.

To start battling in the Live Arena, you need a Live Arena Token, just like in Classic or Tag Arena. You can purchase refills with Gems if you run out of tokens. You can have a maximum of 5 Live Arena Tokens at any given time, and they reset each day at midnight UTC.

When you hit the "Find Opponent" button, the game will find a worthy opponent of similar skill level within your current Live Arena Tier. Matches are based on both your average and most recent performance data to make matchmaking as fair as possible. Once you're matched with a suitable opponent, the first phase of the battle begins.

In this phase, you pick your Champions, and the mind games begin! Each player takes turns picking Champions from their roster until both teams have five champions. Then, each player gets to ban one champion from the opposing team. This means that the champion won't be taking part in the battle, bringing teams down to 4.

In Bronze and Silver Tiers, you can use duplicate champions. However, once you hit the Gold Tier, all champion picks must be unique across both teams. You can use all sorts of devious tricks during this phase, such as picking decoy champions to trick your opponent into banning a champion you weren't going to use, or deliberately picking champions to take them off the table for your opponent.

Once the teams are locked in, it's time to battle. There's no mechanical difference between Live Arena and Classic Arena in terms of the battles themselves. The turn order of champions is determined by their Speed stat and various Turn Meter manipulation skills, and each champion takes a turn and uses skills like they always do. However, you're fighting a real human instead of an AI, so be prepared for anything!

Winning Live Arena Battles gets you Live Arena Points and Live Arena Crests. You advance through the different Live Arena Tiers (from Bronze to Gold) by earning points. Once you reach Silver 1, losing battles will lose you points. If you don't fight at least one Live Arena Battle for five days, you'll start losing 5 Live Arena Points each day until you fight another battle.

On top of that, there are repeatable Live Arena Quests that give you various rewards, including a Live Arena Token Refill and new Artifacts. There are also multiple one-time rewards for reaching certain point milestones.

You will be able to earn and lose rating via Live Arena Battles every day, however, you'll earn Live Arena Crests regardless of whether you win or lose. These crests can be used in the Live Arena Great Hall(Area Bonuses) to unlock bonuses, such as additional Defense, Accuracy or Attack Power.

There are also repeatable Live Arena Quests that give you various rewards, including a Live Arena Token Refill, new Artifacts, and other valuable items. There are multiple one-time rewards for reaching certain point milestones, ranging from a fancy new avatar to even a Legendary Champion (Quintus the Triumphant).

Raid: Shadow Legends has launched another event pairing that is already splitting opinion across the community. Starting on Monday, April 13, players are getting a 96-hour Awakening Boost Event running alongside an Adventure Deck of Fate built around high-rank Glyph rewards. On paper, that sounds strong. In practice, it raises the same question that comes up every time Plarium lines up overlapping progression systems: is this a solid opportunity, or is it just another cleverly packaged bait event?

&nbsp;

The answer is not the same for every account. This is not one of those situations where everybody should go all-in or everybody should skip. The value depends almost entirely on what resources you have saved, where your account is in progression, and whether you place more importance on future guaranteed rewards than immediate account upgrades.

This version of Adventure Deck of Fate runs together with the Awakening Boost and gives points from three main sources: summoning Souls from Soulstones, summoning Champions, and obtaining Artifacts and Accessories. That matters because it creates more flexibility than some previous Deck events, where the point paths felt narrower and more restrictive.

&nbsp;

The featured rewards here are Rank 6 Glyphs, including Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary Glyphs. The most important detail for many late-game players is that Legendary Glyphs are tucked behind Purple Fate Chests, while Epic Glyphs can appear under Purple cards and Blue chests, with the lower rarities spread through the rest of the board. Players can also pin card rarities, which gives at least some control when targeting specific reward tiers.

&nbsp;

For anybody pushing deeper into endgame gearing, especially in Faction Wars Hard, that is where the event starts looking more attractive. Top-end Glyphs are not handed out often, and Legendary Haste Glyphs in particular can be account-changing when used on the right piece of gear.

The Awakening Boost Makes the Event Better

The second half of the equation is the Awakening Boost Event, which increases the chances of pulling 5-star and 6-star Perfect Souls from Mortal and Immortal Soulstones. So the event does not suddenly make Legendary Souls more common, but it does improve your odds of seeing higher-rank Souls when you open stones during the window.

That is what creates the main selling point of this event package. If you were already considering opening Soulstones anyway, you are getting a chance to double dip: improved Soul value from the Awakening event and extra progress in the Deck of Fate at the same time. That is real value.

So Is It Actually Bait?

It can be. But calling it bait without context is too simplistic.

&nbsp;

For a free-to-play or low-spend account that has been carefully hoarding Soulstones for a future Deck of Fate with a guaranteed Champion, valuable Awakening reward, or Fusion tie-in, skipping this event is completely reasonable. You are not wrong for preferring certainty over Glyphs, even strong Glyphs. Deck events can return later with more direct account value, and once resources are gone, they are gone.

On the other hand, for accounts that already spend, already farm hard, or already planned to open Soulstones, this event is not automatically bait either. It is actually one of the cleaner examples of an event where Plarium lines up two systems in a way that can reward efficient timing. If the Glyph pool appeals to you and you are comfortable using Soulstones now, there is logic behind taking advantage of the overlap.

That is really the honest middle ground. This is not a universal must-do event, but it is also not a universal skip.

Why the Glyphs Matter More Than They Look

That misses the point here. A top-tier Glyph, especially a Rank 6 Legendary Haste Glyph, can have a bigger immediate impact on an established account than another random champion sitting in the vault. Endgame builds live and die on stat tuning, and Speed remains one of the most premium stats in the game for a huge amount of content.

That does not mean every player should chase these rewards recklessly. It means the reward type is better than it might look at first glance. For developed accounts, premium Glyph access is one of the few rewards that still feels genuinely meaningful.

The cleanest approach is to treat this as a value check, not a hype check. If you were already planning to crack Soulstones, this is a good window to do it. If you were already planning to farm gear, the Deck gives that farming extra value. What does not make sense for most players is forcing all three point sources at once without a plan.

A sensible route is to lean hardest into Soulstone pulls and Artifact and Accessory farming, while being much more cautious about Champion summoning. Champion shards usually have better dedicated windows elsewhere, and there is no good reason to burn them here unless it already lines up with your own account goals.

For late-game players, there is also some logic in using energy on progression-focused content while the Deck is active, especially if you are trying to stay stocked on enhancement materials and keep your gear pipeline moving. The problem is that most players are not pulling this week for “good” or “fun.” They are pulling for account-defining value.

That last feature is easily one of the most noticeable additions in the entire patch, because it removes some of the repetitive babysitting from champion leveling. The catch is obvious though: once a champion reaches max level, you still have to swap them out manually.

Diamond Raid Card The Diamond Raid Card includes everything from Platinum, but adds 140 extra Multi-Battles, 1 Legendary Skill Tome per month, and 1 monthly chest with random rewards. Those chest rewards can range from Rank 5 Chickens and Chaos Ore to Legendary Tomes, a Mythical Skill Tome, Void Shards, or Primal Shards. On paper, that sounds decent. In practice, the random chest is still a gamble, and that is likely why this part of the patch immediately got mixed reactions from the community.

For early-game and some mid-game accounts, these cards can still offer real value, especially if Campaign farming is part of the daily routine. For late-game accounts, the value becomes much more situational. If you are already relying mostly on brews, not pushing Campaign often, and not desperate for more Multi-Battles, then the new subscription tiers look more like optional convenience than must-have progression tools.

Improved Minotaur Scroll Distribution One of the most useful updates in 11.40 is the change to Mastery Scroll distribution. Now, those surplus scrolls can transfer to another champion from the same run, as long as that champion participated in the battle and still needs that specific type of scroll. The biggest balance story in this patch is clearly Cruetraxa. Her Skill 1 now also ignores [Block Damage], her Skill 2 cooldown has been reduced from 4 turns to 3, and that same skill now strips all buffs before attacking, places [Weaken], ignores 25% DEF, and applies [Block Revive] if it gets the kill. On top of that, her passive now grants a protected [Revive On Death] and gives her a full Turn Meter refill plus [Increase ATK] when she revives through it.

That is a serious upgrade, especially for Arena. The combination of stronger buff control, more reliable kill pressure, and better self-revival makes her look far more dangerous than before. She was already a champion with upside, but these changes push her much closer to true meta relevance. If you already had Cruetraxa sitting in the vault or half-built, this patch is a good reason to take another look.

The other rebalance target, The Incarnate, also improved. The update strengthens the champion’s provoke chance, expands the counterattack conditions, upgrades buff removal, improves shielding, and adds stronger Arbiter synergy. That should make the champion more usable, but the impact still looks far smaller than what Cruetraxa gained from this rebalance cycle.
